Breaking Chains with God’s Power

“He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains.” – Psalm 107:14 (NIV)
There are moments in every warrior’s life when the weight feels unbearable—when fear, discouragement, addiction, shame, or even despair threatens to bind us up and hold us captive. These are spiritual chains, forged in the fires of trials, failures, and lies whispered by the enemy.
But Psalm 107:14 reminds us of a powerful truth: God is still in the chain-breaking business. He doesn’t leave us in the pit. He doesn’t forget us in the darkness. He breaks the chains—and He leads us out.
As God’s Prepared Warriors, we’re not only preparing our homes and our families—we’re preparing our hearts to withstand spiritual battles. And every stronghold in your life—whether it be fear, anxiety, unforgiveness, addiction, or doubt—can be shattered by the power of the living God.
Chains can take many forms:
The shame of your past
The fear of your future
A habit you can’t seem to break
A voice that says you’re not enough
The weight of this world’s chaos
But here’s the truth, those chains don’t belong to you. They’ve already been defeated by the blood of Jesus. You may feel stuck, but you’re not powerless.
Let me remind you that you’ve been armed with:
The Word of God – your sword
Prayer – your spiritual warfare
The Holy Spirit – your guide and strength
Faith – the weapon that overcomes the world
You are not a slave. You are not trapped. You are not forgotten.
You are a Warrior of God, and the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11).
Let's Pray!
Father God,I thank You that You are a God who sees me, rescues me, and breaks the chains that hold me. Lord, shine Your light into the dark places of my heart and life. If there are any chains still wrapped around me—chains of fear, doubt, shame, or addiction—I surrender them to You now.
Remind me that through You, I have victory. I have freedom. And I have power. Fill me with courage to fight the good fight of faith and stand as a free warrior—unbound and unshaken.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Stay vigilant. Stay prepared. And stay free.
