Peace in the Storm

Scripture: John 14:27 (ESV)
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
Storms come without warning—natural ones, emotional ones, spiritual ones. They can shake our foundations, stir up fear, and leave us feeling uncertain. But in the middle of it all, Jesus offers something the world cannot: His peace.
This peace isn’t the kind that depends on perfect circumstances. It isn’t fragile or fleeting. It’s a supernatural calm that holds steady when everything around you is shaking. It is His very presence that anchors you.
As God’s Prepared Warrior, it’s vital to stock up on supplies, plan ahead, and stay aware—but even more importantly, we must be rooted in the peace of Christ. Preparation is wise, but peace is what carries us through the storm. It reminds us that God is still in control, even when the winds howl and the waves rise.
Jesus spoke these words to His disciples just before facing the cross. He knew a storm was coming for them, yet He said, “Let not your hearts be troubled.” He was calling them—and us—not to deny the storm, but to trust Him through it.
So, when the news overwhelms you, when trials hit your home, or when the path ahead seems uncertain, pause. Breathe. Remember who your Anchor is. He is the Prince of Peace who walks on water, who commands the winds, and who promises to never leave your side.
Let's Pray
Father, Thank You for Your unshakable peace. When the storms of life rise around me, help me to fix my eyes on You and not the chaos. Quiet my anxious thoughts and remind me of Your presence. Let Your peace guard my heart and mind in every situation. I trust You, my Rock and my Refuge. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
