Seeking Wisdom

godspreparedwarrio

In times of crises, the decisions we make can have profound and lasting impacts on our lives and those around us. As God's Prepared Warriors, it's crucial that we seek divine wisdom to guide us through these challenging moments. The Bible reminds us of the source of true wisdom in Proverbs 2:6 (NLT), "For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding."

When facing uncertainty, our natural inclination may be to rely on our own understanding and instincts. However, the wisdom that comes from God transcends human knowledge and provides us with clarity and direction that we could never achieve on our own. By seeking God’s wisdom, we equip ourselves with the ability to make decisions that are not only sound but also aligned with His divine will and purpose for our lives.

In the midst of a crisis, it can be tempting to act impulsively or out of fear. Yet, it is precisely in these moments that we must pause and seek God’s guidance. The Bible is replete with stories of individuals who, when faced with difficult decisions, turned to God for wisdom. Joseph, Daniel, and Esther are just a few examples of biblical figures who navigated crises with divine wisdom, resulting in outcomes that brought glory to God and deliverance to His people.

Practically, seeking wisdom involves prayer, reading the Scriptures, and sometimes fasting. It means actively inviting God into our decision-making processes and being willing to listen for His voice, whether it comes through a quiet whisper in our hearts, the counsel of trusted friends, or the reading of His Word. We must be diligent in our pursuit of wisdom, understanding that it is a precious gift that God grants to those who earnestly seek it.

Spiritually, seeking wisdom is an act of humility and dependence on God. It acknowledges that we are not sufficient in ourselves to handle the complexities of life’s challenges. By seeking wisdom, we demonstrate our trust in God’s omniscience and His desire to guide us. This act of faith not only brings us closer to God but also ensures that our actions reflect His character and purposes.

Let's Pray

Heavenly Father, we come before You, acknowledging our need for Your wisdom. In times of crisis, we often feel overwhelmed and unsure of the best path to take. We thank You for the promise in Proverbs 2:6 that You grant wisdom and from Your mouth come knowledge and understanding. Lord, help us to seek Your wisdom above all else, to trust in Your guidance, and to rely on Your strength. Teach us to pause and listen for Your voice, to read Your Word diligently, and to be patient in waiting for Your direction. May our decisions bring glory to Your name and reflect Your divine purpose for our lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
