The Heart of a Servant

Matthew 20:28 – “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
As God’s Prepared Warriors, we often focus on strength, readiness, and spiritual awareness. But none of that matters if we lack the heart of a servant. Jesus, our greatest example, didn’t come to be honored by man—He came to serve. He knelt before His disciples, washed their feet, healed the broken, and laid down His life.
To be truly prepared, we must mirror that same humility. A servant’s heart listens, gives, protects, and lifts others up—especially in times of chaos or crisis. Our preparation should always point us toward people, not away from them.
When disaster strikes, people won’t remember how stocked your shelves were—they’ll remember how you showed up, how you prayed with them, how you gave what you had, and how you loved like Jesus.
As we train, plan, and stay vigilant, let’s also guard our hearts—so we never forget our calling to serve. The heart of a true warrior beats in rhythm with the heart of Christ.
Let's Pray
Lord, give me the heart of a servant. Teach me to see others the way You do. In every moment of preparation, remind me that I’m called to love, to give, and to serve. Use my life as a light in dark places. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
