“In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
Proverbs 16:9
As God's Prepared Warriors, we’re often diligent about planning—whether it’s storing food, building skills, or preparing for potential challenges. While these efforts are wise and needed, this verse reminds us that, ultimately, it is God who establishes our steps. Preparing doesn’t mean trying to control the future, but rather trusting God while responsibly stewarding the resources and wisdom He has provided.
In our journey to be prepared, we must remember to submit our plans to God. True preparedness isn’t just physical; it’s also spiritual. It involves aligning our steps with God’s direction, seeking His wisdom, and finding peace in His sovereignty. Our plans may shift, unexpected events may occur, but God’s purpose stands firm.
Today, let’s approach our preparations with open hands. Yes, plan and prepare, but let your heart rest in the One who has a perfect plan. Allow God to guide you as you prepare and find comfort knowing that He has a purpose for each step you take.
Let's Pray
Heavenly Father, thank You for being the One who establishes our steps. Help us to be diligent in our preparations but always surrendered to Your will. Guide us in wisdom and remind us that You are our ultimate security and strength. Teach us to trust Your plans and to find peace in knowing that You hold our future. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
